Being a mother is the most wonderful feeling of the world. It’s a phase of transition from a girl to a complete woman. We all as mothers want the best for our children and social media and online platforms help us to decide where to go, what to get and how good it will be for our newbies. Starting from Pregnancy to delivery to breastfeeding all mothers need help on various topics. There will always be hundreds of advice pouring in from here and there adding to the confusion we as new mothers already have. Breastfeeding is one of the most important challenges that all new moms face.

I know the common Questions that all of you have like “will I get enough milk as soon as I deliver?”, “will I be able to feed my baby?”, “how will I get to know if my little one is getting enough milk” are continuously bothering you so I have few important facts to share with you all which are also answers to your common questions:

    • Breast milk is perfect food for babies. It has all the right nutrients in just the right amounts. The World Health Organization (WHO) says that feeding your baby only breast milk for the first 6 months of life is the best way to keep your baby healthy.
    • Right after your baby’s birth, you will have a special type of breast milk called “colostrum” which is very rich. Colostrum is all the food your new baby needs so don’t panic if you don’t feel you have much milk for the first few days.
    • One of the best ways to tell that you have enough milk is by keeping a track of your baby’s urine output.
    • Weight gain is another good way to tell that your baby is getting enough milk.

The more you breastfeed, the more milk you will have. At first, you will probably need to breastfeed your baby 8 or 10 times every 24 hours. This will give your body the message to make lots of milk. For further practice of the techniques a Lactation counselor is the best person to contact.
