    Your Pregnancy Week by Week

    Stage Details

    As every day passes, your baby is growing and getting ready for the outer world. As you enter 27th week of pregnancy, the brain of your baby is growing very fast and will soon reach to its final stage of tuning. Baby also starts opening eyelid and begins to distinguish between light and shadows. 


    Pregnancy Symptoms

    On entering 27th week of pregnancy, you can probably experience some of the late-pregnancydiscomforts like:  

    • Wide and big areola: Your breasts and areola are getting ready for breast feeding. Areola will grow wide and bigger to help your baby enjoy breast feeding after coming out of your womb.  
    • Mood swings: Even at this stage of your pregnancy, there can be extreme changes in your mood and behavior. You may feel a bit emotional or aggressive at times. The reason for your short temperedness, irritation and unusual behavior is just enjoying inside your body. Don’t be surprised if you are smiling at one moment while the other moment you are sad or stressed out. Just relax and let the pregnancy show its effects.it is important to identify between okay to not okay. 
    • Vivid dreams: Apart from other symptoms, you can have vivid dreams too. This is just because of your pregnancy phase and will vanish soon.   
    • Urinary incontinence: You may feel occasional urinary incontinence like peeing on sneezing. 

    This is just because of the pressure put by uterus on bladder and will soon go away on its own.  


    Exercise and physical activity 

    Exercise, walk and yoga is very important during pregnancy and should be continued for as long as possible. There are following myths about exercise during pregnancy that should be ignored:  

    * Keep heart rate under 140 beats per minute 

    *Exercise leads to dehydration and over heating 

    *Exercise makes you more exhausted 

    *Running during pregnancy is unsafe 

    Do everything in limit and do not exhaust yourself with any exercise.  


    Things to do this week

    • Drink lots of water to prevent dehydration and UTI 
    • Don’t wait for long periods without emptying your bladder. 
    • Take rest during daytime  
    • Eat a well balanced diet divided into small meals 
    • Stay alert and consult your doctor if there is anything unusual 
    • Intake of Vitamin B7 or Biotin helps to boost skin, hair and nails. So, include foods rich in vitamin B7 like VEG: Cauliflower, carrots, bananas, soy flour, soybeans, yeast, wheat germ, whole grain cereals, whole wheat bread, dairy products, nuts, Swiss chard, avocados, milk, mushrooms, peas & Non-veg: Salmon, eggs, chicken etc.
